We are are super excited about the three courses we're offering this Spring through Portland Adult Education. Unlike our regularly-scheduled group lessons on the weekends, these courses all have multiple sessions, allowing for students to build skills and gain experience over several weeks.
(Although Zack Anchors is listed as the instructor for all the courses, SUP Yoga will be taught by Alex Molo and Paddleboarding will be taught by Scott Anchors).

Wednesdays 6:00 PM-8:00 PM. This course provides a chance to learn the basics of stand-up paddleboarding (SUP) while exploring the waters of Casco Bay. Each of the sessions will involve a short paddle and a brief lesson on different aspects of the sport. Students will learn the basic paddling strokes, board balance, trip planning, rescue techniques and much more. The first two sessions will be at the East End Beach in Portland and the last two will be at other nearby waterfront locations. All necessary gear will be provided by Portland Paddle.
Thursdays 6:00 PM-7:30 PM. SUP yoga provides a way to combine the sport of stand-up paddleboarding with the practice of yoga. Doing yoga on a board can be challenging, but it’s not as difficult as you might expect and it’s super fun and exciting. This course, which is open to people of all skill levels, starts with at least a half hour of yoga practice and ends with a brief paddle just before sunset. This class will be taught by Alex Molo, a yoga instructor from Portland Power Yoga who is also a skilled paddleboarder.
Saturdays 9:30 AM-12:30 PM. This course provides a chance to explore the waters of Casco Bay while learning the essential skills of sea kayaking. The first four sessions, lasting 3 hours each, will start with the most important paddling strokes and progress to cover basic rescue techniques, navigation, trip-planning, tides and currents and other essential sea kayaking skills and knowledge. The course will end with a final session that involves a full-day paddling trip in Casco Bay. All the necessary gear will be provided by Portland Paddle. Last class is Sunday 6/28.
