We are looking for someone to help the owner manage all aspects of our operations throughout the summer. This is a 30 to 40 hour-a-week position for someone with plenty of professional experience in positions of leadership or management. Ideally, the Operations Manager would also have significant experience in the outdoors industry, preferably with paddlesports or ocean-related activities. The operations manager will work closely with the owner and site supervisor and will be responsible for managing all staff and ensuring that all operations are running smoothing, safely and efficiently. The job involves a diverse mix of tasks, including office work, customer service, management of staff and some manual labor. If the manager has a Maine guide license they could also spend some time guiding trips, but this is not at all essential. Professional experience with graphic design, bookkeeping or marketing is also a plus, but not required. This position extends from mid-May through early October, and there's the possibility of some part-time work earlier and later. The position could grow into a year-round job for the right person, very part-time in the winter and full-time during the summer.

Responsibilities include all those described above in the "shore staff" description (posted on our general staff hiring blog post) plus some mix of the following. The precise mix of responsibilities will depend on the candidate's skills and background.
